Course Structure
The curriculum of first year of all the programmes in all streams is same and is intended to ensure a common background in the core courses of all branches with sufficient exposure to humanities and language skill. From the second year onwards, the training is aimed at strengthening knowledge in chosen areas, while offering sound exposure to pure sciences, engineering and humanities streams.
- Compulsory Core Courses: Courses common to all the branches
- Compulsory Programme Courses: Courses compulsory to a particular branch
- Science & Humanities (HSS): Humanities, Science and Social Sc. elective courses
- Programmes Electives: Courses offered as elective in a particular branch
- Open Electives: Courses offered as elective/core in a particular branch of other departments
- Specialization Course: Courses specific to specializations like AI & ML, Cyber Security (CS)

Eligibility & Selection Criteria
Candidates (both regular and lateral entry) can only take admission through OJEE Counseling by following appropriate admission procedure. For detail eligibility criteria and admission / counseling procedure the candidate may refer OJEE website http://ojee.nic.in. There is no other way to take admission into B. Tech programmes.
Reservation policies are as per OJEE rules. If seats remain vacant after normal OJEE counseling procedure is over, the vacant seats may be filled by the Institute through open advertisement at institute level from candidates having JEE/MAIN rank (OJEE), with the permission of the OJEE.

M.Tech. Computer Science and Engineering
M. Tech. Computer Science and Engineering is a 2-year Programme having two semester course work and two semester project work. The purpose of this course is to provide advance training in Computer Science preparing students to take up challenges in research and industry.

Minimum Eligibility
Candidates having passed the following degrees from Sambalpur University or any equivalent examination from a UGC recognized University:
Applicants must have good knowledge in Computer Programming.
Selection Criteria
The selection will be done on the basis of career and written with 30% and 70% weightage respectively. Absence of a candidate in written examination will disqualify him/her for admission.

N.B: In cases where no division, marks or percentage of marks have been awarded, the division shall be determined on the basis of proportionate marking from the grades awarded for the purpose of career marking.

Master in Computer Application (MCA)
The 2-year MCA programme is designed with the aim to develop core competence in Computer Science and applications and to prepare the students to carry out software development work, as well as take up challenges in research specific to software industry.
Minimum Eligibility
Candidates having passed the following degrees from Sambalpur University or any equivalent examination from a UGC recognized University:
Obtained at least 50% marks (45% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the qualifying Examination.

Selection Criteria
The selection for 50% of seats will be done on the basis of OJEE score/Equivalent rank and for rest 50% through its own entrance test, on the basis of career and written with 30% and 70% weightage respectively.
Absence of a candidate in written examination will disqualify him/her for admission. In case of vacancy in any category, seats will be transferred to other category.
SUIIT does not participate in OJEE/JEE counseling and willing candidates are required to apply us directly with their OJEE rank document.
