About the Department

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering at SUIIT was established with a vision to impart quality education and foster research in the field of computer science. Since its inception, the department has been at the forefront of technological education, producing skilled professionals who have made significant contributions to the IT industry and academia.

The Department of CSE has started its two PG Programs M.Sc.(CS) and M.Tech.(CSE) and one UG program B.Tech.(CSE) in the year 2010 with an intake of 16, 16 and 32 respectively. The Department started the Master of Computer Applications (MCA) programme in the year 2011 with an intake capacity of 32. This program is designed to offer a robust theoretical framework, delivered through exceptional teaching methods and further enriched by a comprehensive practical learning approach. Its primary commitment is to provide top-quality education across all areas of IT, a rapidly advancing field.

At present the department has expanded to 302 students with three UG programs B.Tech.(CSE), B.Tech. CSE (AI&ML), and B.Tech. CSE (CS), and two PG Programs M.Tech.(CSE), MCA with intake capacity of 120, 60, 30, 32, 60 seats respectively. Besides these, the Department offers a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Computer Science and Engineering aimed at producing quality researchers and high-impact interdisciplinary research. The Department has modern facilities for teaching, learning, and research. The Department offers a wide array of research opportunities and programs of study at undergraduate and postgraduate level. The Department has state-of-the-art infrastructure and computing equipment supported by high speed Ethernet and wireless networks. The focus areas of research are AI & Machine Learning, High-Performance Computing Systems, Computer Networks & Security, Knowledge Engineering, Big data analytics and Software Engineering.

We have strong collaborations with industry leaders and research institutions, providing our students with ample opportunities for internships, projects, and placements. The department also organizes regular workshops, seminars, and hackathons to enhance the technical and soft skills of students.
